On November 28, 140 domestic 7-seat SUVs were exported to Russia by the China-Europe freight train via Hunchun Railway Port. This is the first time for the port to export vehicles by roll containers.

A total of 250 vehicles were exported from Hunchun Railway Port in 2 batches this time. In the past, export vehicles were carried by standard shipping containers, with only 2 vehicles per container. However, each roll container can carry 10 vehicles, effectively improving transport efficiency and saving logistics costs.

According to Jilin Northeast Asia Railway Group Hunchun Branch, the test of exporting vehicles by roll containers is a new railway cargo shipping mode that Hunchun Railway Port actively discussed with Russian Railways, realizing the direct export vehicle loading with roll containers at the port. New development space has been created for optimizing China's vehicle export business form, improving the shipping scale, reducing costs and increasing efficiency for automakers.

In recent years, Hunchun has smoothed the import channel for bulk resources and energy products from Russian, the transport corridor for cross-border rail-sea trade and domestically traded goods, as well as the export corridor for China-Europe freight trains from Hunchun to Europe, Central Asia and Russian inland. According to statistics, from January to October this year, Hunchun Railway Port exported 226 vehicles weighing about 3,444 tons.

Head of the Hunchun Port Management Service Center said that Hunchun Railway Port, as the only railway port to Russia in the province, will further strengthen the construction of infrastructure projects including the railway roll container station. The port will be built into a new logistics corridor supporting the development of the province's automobile industry.
