On February 19, Geely Auto Group's CEO, Mr. Gan Jiayue, revealed the company's strategic direction for 2024, emphasizing the new energy vehicle (NEV) range Galaxy's focus on the mainstream market for "hybrid + pure electric" vehicles.
He said the Galaxy range plans to introduce three all-new NEV models this year, all developed on a fresh architecture and innovative design language, incorporating Geely's in-house developed intelligent NEV technologies.
In addition, Gan Jiayue also expressed Geely Galaxy's commitment to crafting high-value new energy intelligent premium cars within the 100,000 yuan-200,000 yuan price range for users.
On January 2024, the Galaxy E8, the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model under Geely Galaxy, officially hit the market, indicating that Geely's NEV business had ushered in the "Galaxy Era."
The Galaxy E8 not only debuts the world's first 45-inch 8K display for users, but also introduces industry-leading features such as the Snapdragon 8295 chip, a seamlessly integrated operating system, and advanced AI applications.
In the first month of this year, Geely Galaxy sold 19,223 vehicles, reflecting a 59% surge month-on-month.
Since its birth on February 23, 2023, the Galaxy range has swiftly integrated forward-looking technologies, from the next-gen NordThor electric hybrid technology to the Aegis battery safety system. Its product lineup now includes three models, the Galaxy L7, the Galaxy L6, and the Galaxy E8, strategically positioning Geely in the mainstream NEV market with a comprehensive layout covering BEVs, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, sedans, and SUVs.
With cumulative sales exceeding 100,000 units in less than a year and an average vehicle selling price surpassing 160,000 yuan, the Galaxy has contributed to the establishment of over 650 sales and services stores nationwide, propelling the Geely brand's value to new heights.
